Professional Experience

June 2019 - August 2020

STUDENT SERVICES ASSISTANT

In this Federal Work Study position, I served as an assistant for the Student Services department at the University of Advancing Technology. I spent my time directly communicating with struggling students on behalf of the department, updating student documentation, and utilizing the CampusView database.

I also assisted in the design of the New Student Orientation course and with updating the university's 2021-2023 Course Catalog, and audited transcripts of incoming students to award correct transfer credits.

February 2019 - December 2019

PROJECT MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT

I consulted with three teams working in the UAT Game Studio as a part of my graduate coursework. I was responsible for assisting them with game design decisions, reworking and improving their documentation, and providing detailed pipeline improvement plans and training materials.

I worked directly with project leadership to address issues of Agile implementation, marketing, and team direction. My primary tools in this role were Unreal Engine, Unity and Google Docs.

GUILD LEADERSHIP - VOLUNTEER

Volunteer/Hobby position. This encompasses my role as leadership for in-game guild organizations in World of Warcraft. These entailed tri-weekly engagement of organization members in events, resolving interpersonal conflicts between members, and community management to work alongside other groups.

I am also responsible for managing guild member performance in competitive content, using spreadsheets and analytics to identify problems and improve performance.  I work to engage a diverse group of participants while also welcoming new members into the fold.

August 2019 - Present

EVENT COORDINATOR - VOLUNTEER

Volunteer/Hobby position. In this role, I moderate and coordinate writing campaigns on my World of Warcraft server. Day-to-day duties involve chat moderation and interpersonal conflict resolution using the Discord platform.

Long-term responsibilities involve planning and leadership of large writing events every 3-4 months. I work alongside and help lead an interdisciplinary team of outreach coordinators, graphic artists, and writers. Major accomplishments include the Shadows in the Sand and In Death's Shadow events, which garnered hundreds of attendees each.

August 2016 - December 2017

GAME DESIGNER

I worked with three different game teams working in the UAT Game Studio, a hybrid academic and production environment.

My responsibilities included writing NPC dialogue, level design, and scripting using the Blueprint system for Unreal Engine. My main accomplishments in this role were assisting in the completion of two student capstone projects and being selected as the Game Design Lead for the project Island Survivor, tasked with directing four game designers over the course of a semester.

In this role, I also worked as an intern on the Cuban Medic Productions team, creating the game Operation: Red Rhino. I created multiplayer maps, promotional material, and developed new game modes.
