GANGS OF GRAFFITI

In a world within a pseudo-comic book, four gang leaders fight over turf. Unlike the real world, this world uses the very ink of the pages as it’s life and blood. The gang leaders use weapons of mass marking, in the form of tanks, to spread their graffiti marks and symbols across the territory. Because ink and color are weapons, these marks are more than just splatters.

Gangs of Graffiti was a game being developed by Infinitive Studios through the UAT Game Studios. The game is a competitive multiplayer arena and tank shooter game where players tag and mark territory and one another in a bid to take over the map. Infinitive is an incredible team that I had the pleasure of working alongside- I really admired the work they did on Morpheus.

At the time I worked on this project, it was nearing the end of its first year of development, progressing at a steady pace. The stated goal for the project was to have functioning multiplayer for this project, as well as finished visual effects. Unfortunately, production on Gangs of Graffiti ended in May 2019 before this could be finished. The GoG team has released what work was completed, including a level blockout and working menus, on Itch.io.

My Role

I worked with the GoG team during their final semester of production on this project, acting as a project management consultant and assisting with the team's marketing efforts. I and the team's art lead, James Mathieu, worked together to produce the flythrough of the team's finished "Neo Lotus City" level. Additionally, I worked directly with the project lead, Dakota Stoner, to producing a series of reports regarding hypothetical marketing efforts for this game based on a price point he provided. My marketing report can be viewed by clicking this link.
